****

Reading, PA - Piscataway, NJ June 12, 2024 - Inperium, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based national nonprofit network of health and human services providers, and Let’s Work for Good Inc., d/b/a Popcorn for the People, a New Jersey nonprofit, have agreed to affiliate. Popcorn for the People aspires to be the leading manufacturer and distributor of gourmet popcorn across the nation while filling a gap in the employment market by providing meaningful employment, equitable pay and benefits, and job training to adults with autism.

Inperium will support Popcorn for the People to advance its mission and build the brand. The affiliation is expected to close July 1, 2024.

Steven Bier, M.D., co-founder of Popcorn for the People, commented: “Since its founding in 2015, Popcorn for the People has grown into a full-scale popcorn-production facility that employs adults on the spectrum in both full- and part-time positions. Jobs range from making and packaging our gourmet popcorn, to sales and marketing. Now is the right time to join with a well-resourced, nonprofit partner like Inperium, which can extend the impact of the work we have begun nationwide with our customers such as the Philadelphia Eagles, New Jersey Devils, Rutgers Big Ten Men’s and Women Basketball, and Wawa.”

Ryan D. Smith, Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Inperium, explained: “The prevalence of autism has risen 20% in the last twenty years, and 82% of people with disabilities were unemployed in 2022. Inperium’s network of more than thirty human services providers operating in nineteen states provides an ideal platform from which to expand the Popcorn for the People brand and promote meaningful employment opportunities for people with autism.”
