Process and steps

1
Exploring Acquisition

Bankruptcy proceedings attracted potential acquirers, but competing buyers wanted to split up Connections programs, risking service disruption.

2
State Intervention

After being approached by the State of Delaware, Inperium agreed to acquire and restructure the full organization to ensure program continuity for clients.

3
Regulatory Negotiation

Inperium managed a complex transition between state agencies and public and private payors, from contracting to credentialing.

4
Financial and Operational Overhaul

Systemic billing inaccuracies and excessive operational spend were addressed head-on, creating a stable foundation for Conexio Care.

Results

Entering bankruptcy court can be the end of the road for a nonprofit, but Inperium’s acquisition and restructuring of Connections into Conexio Care has forged a new path for the organization and the people it serves in Delaware.

Conexio Care has achieved $12 million in annual savings through improved leadership and efficient operations, including accurate staffing and a 55% smaller vehicle fleet. This administrative cost reduction has enabled Conexio Care to avoid future financial troubles and focus more of its revenue on programs for its community.

Since joining the Inperium constellation and rebranding as Conexio we have gained access to expanded resources, both financial and operational, including collaboration with experienced leaders and subject matter experts across the constellation. Equally impactful has been Inperium’s transparency featuring clear expectations, defined goals, and a strong, mission-focused direction.

Partnering with Inperium was not merely a lifeline; it was a bridge that enabled us to center our efforts on what truly matters—the people we serve and the communities in which they live.
